the level of care seems to be working well for my mom which helps give me peace of mind.

The onboarding experience has been exceptional. We looked at least 4 other communities and found the 1-1 experience with the leadership at the facility when out of their way to make us comfortable. It is essential to do your homework and to properly set your expectations. Speak with those under your care and make them part of the process to the extent of their capabilities or desire. What we have kept in mind that while no place can replace a loving and emotionally stable homecare environment, we had to adjust our expectations and work with the present circumstances. Several factors influenced our decision (none were based on cost): 1)Age in place emphasis (this is where other facilities fall short), 2) Memory Care centric (The facility is converting to 100% which was a definite advantage for us), 3) The new leadership (working with Beth Crews, Danielle Washington, Recca Isom, Ms. Carolyn, and Tahneisha Culpepper) all made us comfortable (beyond the business and into an emotional connection). All the leaders demonstrated a willingness to work with us and never rushed us into a decision or a quick sell (tell you what you want to hear). Of special note Ms. Danielle Washington related her experiences with her family which demonstrated empathy. While we do not know what future experiences will bring for us, we will not be reticent to post our experiences favorable or unfavorable. A fourth decision point was: no nursing home smells commonly found in the rooms, hallways, elevator, or common areas. While this is only a start is a good one especially during this difficult time in transitioning our mom's care. We will continue to use an outside CNA and 3 current caregivers to help with the transition or as long as our mom wants it. **** Updated Observations - Week of September 1st **** The first week has been a one of learning on both sides as the facility is now 100% memory care. While we cannot comment on what it was before our experience with our mom has been exceptional especially since she moved in on a Friday. We were expecting a dip in overall service but actually it was great (The CNA Will and MedTech (Tsoli where responsive and kind; The receptionist Ms. Keitha helped us a lot as well without annoyance). Of special note where this facility has excelled in our observations are the available activities for the residents who are at different levels of cognition, emotional, and physical abilities. We believe that the difference is in leadership at all levels, but especially with Ms. Carolyn James who serves as the Activities Director. We decided to post the calendar to provide a visual of the level of strategy, planning, and execution that seems to take place effortlessly which we know doesn't. We are pleased with our choice for one of our most cherished loved ones. Choose carefully wherever you select as this is one of the most important decisions that can be made. *** Additional Observations 7 weeks in the journey 10/15/25 **** Since the addition of Ms. Talisa Evans (Wellness Director) the care has risen to a new level in less than an month. When combined with with tireless efforts of Ms. Carolyn James (this is a key decision-point area if you are making a decision) (Activities Director) our mom's emotional and physical well-being have improved and we are beyond satisfied along with oversight of Ms. Beth Crews and Ms. Danielle Washington is working well. We are glad that the choice to place our mom in the care of The Pearl at East Cobb was the right one! Continued thanks to Mr. Andre Jackson for keeping the facilities safe, operational, and clean!

While visiting today about changes in the community while trying to approach the head chef with the black coat with long braids I’m assuming and she wearing glasses her demeanor and energy was unwelcoming I just walked straight pass her she didn’t speak or even look my way I just felt no connection to this place wondring if I’m making the right decision to leave my love one there I know everyone have bad day I hope hers get better soon it really looks like a nice place to have my family stay there

If your loved one needs minimal assistance, this seems to be a great place. If you are looking for any level of individual care, I would plan to hire a personal aid. There are some wonderful people there, but they are understaffed and not able to give much individual attention.

My grandmother is spending time here and she really enjoys it! Since new management started I’ve seen a great deal of improvement when it come to communication and resident engagement my grandmother is happy. The staff always make sure she is treated with kindness and dignity which goes a long way for her morale.
