My dad stayed at Chestnut for a year before moving to a different facility. The staff was friendly and supportive and always tried to help residents. There was a warm atmosphere in the dining room during social activies and gatherings. My dad loved the bingo activity and participated often.
My mother unfortunately had to be put in a home ,this facility offered rehab so we had her placed here all the Dr's , nurse's staff , cafeteria to the ganitors were always so nice and the care I thought was great they really took care of Mom but as in anything there is no perfect place and I understand that but all and all I think they did a wonderful job.
Don’t let your family member go to this rehab facility! My dad was worse off when he left the facility. They didn’t even try to get him out of bed for treatment. Treatment was sitting him up and helping him brush his teeth. Because they left him in bed for weeks, his legs began to contracture and he was never able to straighten them again. After leaving the facility, he was basically bed bound because of their lack of care and therapy. Finally, the bill they sent was very expensive when we were told that his stay was covered. None of my calls to nurses were ever returned. Crooks, uncaring…

My 90 year old Grandmother was at Chestnut Ridge for 20 days, rehabbing her ability to walk. The staff couldn’t have been better to her and my family. The building isn’t a Taj Mahal, but it’s filled with staff who get dressed everyday and are clothed in kindness, patience, knowledge, and empathy. The physical therapist and occupational therapist did a phenomenal job getting my Grandmother back to normal. Needing a place for your loved one is scary, in a million different ways, but we genuinely felt comfortable with every person at Chestnut Ridge. We couldn’t thank them enough!! Angels on Earth.
I went in for an ankle replacement at Piedmont Hospital I was sent to Chestnut Ridge for rehabilitation I would say that Chestnut Ridge took excellent care of me with their Therapies and with the staff I would recommend Chestnut Ridge to a friend or family member at any time
Food is not good .... Food is over cooked or under cooked .. definitely not presentable to eat.. SMELLS LIKE URINE EVERYWHERE!!! CLOSETS IN ROOMS ARE AWFUL... BATHROOM IN ROOMS ARE SMELLY AND DARK. NEEDS MORE ATTENTION TO CLEANLINESS.. and the pictures on the website is not this facility.
If I could give no stars, I would. DO NOT BELIEVE the good reviews. My mom stayed here for a couple of days before she was rushed back to the hospital. During the middle of the night my mom fell out of one of their beds. They didn't contact her family. They didn't take her for any x-rays or scans. They told us they did not even know how long she laid on the floor before they found her. They also told us they did not contact us because their phones were down due to storms in the area. My sister got to the facility the next morning and noticed my mom was drugged out of her mind and started investigating. Turns out they had also given her the wrong medication, which they later tried to walk back and say the nurse misspoke about. They wouldn't have said a word if my sister wasn't aware enough to start asking questions. Please, if you have a loved one and you want good care, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE.
They DNR me glad , the co workers made the place better some of the residents are sweet corporate so mad I must of pissed them off can’t blame me for trying 😮💨
