The Mansions at Alpharetta Independent Living

We moved my mother to The Mansions last week and though it’s only been a week, my impression couldn’t be more positive. This was my mother’s first move into a senior community and she was very unhappy about it. Me and my 4 siblings spent extensive time visiting many candidate communities, analyzing reviews, and speaking with current and former residents to ensure the right place for her. Given her reluctance and the importance of a positive initial experience, our decision would be one of the most important one we’ve made for her. Fortunately, everything has been exactly as promised and expected. Her one bedroom apartment is spacious, bright, and in excellent condition. The one work order we submitted was handled quickly. The staff and residents could not be nicer, more pleasant, or more helpful. I really want to emphasize this point - I’m in daily disbelief about how incredibly friendly and nice the dining room, front desk, and activities staff are, beaming with smiles and being as pleasant as anyone could possibly be. The available activities are excellent, extensive, and well thought out. I especially like that there is almost always a post-dinner activity which we did not see at most other communities, and that they have guest speakers on all types of topics such as AI, wellness, and personal growth. The facilities are beautiful and very well maintained. The property itself is nicely situated with plenty of walking paths, outdoor spaces, and green areas. The shuttle service is convenient to use. The meals are good quality with lots of options on the everyday menu in case the available entrees (2 options each for lunch and dinner) are not of interest. I’ve gone and stayed long every day her first week to ensure her integration and socialization, so have seen the place from start to finish every day for a week and have been very satisfied and impressed. The best thing of all is that despite my mom’s strong resistance to moving here, in less than a week she claims she loves it here and has begun making friends. I’m very happy that The Mansions has so far lived up to the promises they made to us and have fully met our hopes and expectations. I especially want to note the outstanding efforts and support of Shon and Kathryn. Shon worked with us extensively during our selection process. We were not easy customers but Shon hung with us, was never rattled, and did everything she possibly could to accommodate our needs and concerns. Despite my mother unexpectedly needing to go to rehab just before she was supposed to move in, Shon allowed us to keep her reserved apartment until she was released and line us up with a third party care service in case we needed extra support. Kathryn has been an angel and very supportive in addition to Shon during this first week. Their teamwork in addition to the excellent Mansions staff has been truly outstanding and has helped confirm that we made a great decision in selecting The Mansions for my mom.

Moving my grandmother here from Florida was a big transition, and she was understandably nervous about leaving her home and starting somewhere new. From the moment she arrived at The Mansions at Alpharetta, both the residents and staff made her feel welcomed, included, and truly at home. She has jumped right into community life and loves participating in all the activities, including bingo, exercise classes, glee club, card games, trivia, and happy hour. It's been wonderful to see her making friends, staying active, and enjoying every day. The best part of this experience has been the genuine kindness, compassion, and attention she has received from both the staff and the residents. Knowing she is surrounded by people who truly care has given our family tremendous peace of mind. We are so grateful to everyone at The Mansions at Alpharetta for making this transition such a positive one. I would highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming place for a loved one.

My mom moved into Mansions at Alpharetta several years ago and I am so happy. She was living alone at her house and had fallen several times without anyone knowing. This is what prompted us to have her move to independent living. She has made many friends playing mahjong, bridge, and her favorite game rummikub. Several residents will sit outside in the courtyard in the evenings sharing wine and snacks and just enjoying each other. It is such a friendly community with all the staff knowing every residents name and they are all so helpful. I would highly recommend this community for any family member looking for a nice community for their parent to live in.

I am honored to be a part of the scheduled activities here at The Alpharetta Mansions. The activity director, Annette, has so many fun things going on which I know the residents really look forward to and love to participate in. She, along with Hassana and the rest of the staff are so welcoming and make you truly feel at home. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of this wonderful community.
