Would like to know who let me out with a hemoglobin of 8.6 and never said anything. I’m exhausted and just found this out
My mother-n-law was at Grandview a few days for rehab. I have had some experience with nursing homes over the years and I have to say this is the worst experience I have had. With the exception of one nurse who was incredible, caring and patient, there are many issues that need to be addressed at Grandview. I had a bad feeling when I first walked in due to the upkeep of the facility, but thought that if the care was good, we could overlook the building. My mother-n-law’s call light was ignored for hours. She would have the yell for help for someone to come to her aid, particularly at night…
She would have the yell for help for someone to come to her aid, particularly at night with the night shift staff. When I walked in one morning, her catheter bag was literally about to overflow and was backing up. When I brought it to the attention of the CNA she seemed very annoyed that I brought attention to it and walked out of the room without saying anything. She then walked back in with a clear trash bag, emptied the urine in the bag and then carried it out of the room. There was a bathroom in the room, so I’m not sure if this is regular protocol, but it did not seem sanitary or an appropriate practice. Thankfully we were able to get transported to a much better facility. There are caring and clean nursing home facilities in the area, but this one is not it. I don’t typically leave reviews, but hopefully this review might be helpful to someone who is considering this facility for their loved one’s care.
My mom came here for rehab., the rehab group was amazing and always seem to care. The facility was always clean and smell good. Management was always nice and especially the case worker Joan . The only thing I saw that could use some attention was the time of matter call lights were answered. Hope to never return but if so I will use them again and recommend it for anyone.
Caring, compassionate staff, that truly have a heart for caring for others.
Food needs a lot of work, my mom would not eat the food ,the residents need to have food that you would eat at home with your family, some of the workers are not nice to the residents at all , I have heard the nurse several times yelling at residents to pick things up after she accidentally dropped a medicine cup ,I heard her yelling at a woman so loud fussing with her over something,I have worked at a nursing home before no one has the right to yell or treat anyone like these people are treated if you dnt want your family treated like that you should not treat them like that , my mom has pushed her button and no one comes we the family have called up there several times it took them a very long time just to answer her button, not all the nurses are bad some are very good people and treat residents great ,but it's should be all the nurses should be great not just a few, I will never put my mom somewhere again to be treat like dirt ,I think they need to do better and if they are tired and dnt like their job than they need to find another job ., the rooms need to look more comfortable for their stay it looks like their rooms are a prison to them there should be more to the rooms for them to have family to come see them there's nothing there but an uncomfortable chair that is it at least a hospital looks more for a family to come in.
Well pleased taking good care of my mother
Poor ratio with patient to CNA and also with nurses not enough staff. Patients have to wait and they’re in bed with poop in the bed
The leadership team at Grandview is GREAT. Sabrina has put together a very solid team. Communication and room cleanliness are above expectations. My mother is very well takes care of and enjoys the environment. The activities could stand some improvement and upgrade but overall I am very pleased and happy with my decision to place my mother’s care in the teams hands. Thanks. Keep up the good work
