My sister will be moving into Heather House - Alpharetta. It's a personal care home. We chose it because it's the only one that would allow Medicaid. I've only been there one or two times. It's very clean and very nice. If you can just picture your mom and dad's house, that's what it is. It's your typical bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room, and things like that on the main level. The staff was very nice.

I was so pleased. We were in need of an unexpected immediate situation where we needed to find a place short-term for my 95 year old Dad. Franca, the owner, went above and beyond to help us make it work. My dad was absolutely thrilled, he LOVED the meals and the caring staff (TT and Terry) that really focused on his care, making sure he was safely moving around, and connecting with the other residents. Honestly, I hadn't seen my father so happy because he was so well taken care of. I loved how close of attention they gave him and his needs - but also listened to what he wanted and would make…

I loved how close of attention they gave him and his needs - but also listened to what he wanted and would make him comfortable. The residents were sweet and welcoming, too.

I loved having my mom there. The place is definitely not new. It doesn't have any bells and whistle's. The food is decent but the staff and the care that they will give your mom, or dad is worth every penny you pay. I always knew my mom was loved and well taken care of. Like I said, it old, comfortable, food so-so, but would highly recommend because of the level of care!!!!

We live in Canada so we were not able to visit regularly. The owner of Heather House, would call us regularly to provide updates on our sister. They would arrange transportation for doctor appointments as well as have a staff member attend the appointment and call us with results. Sister was well cared for. Activities and exercises, 3 season room/ lounge area that faced a forest, green space. Sister had slight dementia, so was well aware of her living situation. She was happy at Heather House.

I was not thrilled with them. They didn't have 24-hour nursing on staff, which was a biggie for us. They had a nurse there when I was there - one nurse to care for 8 people living there. There were no televisions in the bedrooms. So all the residents had to come out to the common room to watch TV, which would have been hard for my loved one. The woman running the home was very nice. But it was very old. It felt as was as if I myself simply brought people into my older home to care for them. I just felt like my loved one needed more care than that. It might be a lovely place, but I just didn’t have a good feeling.

My uncle is in Heather House. It's a personal care home, and we chose it because he liked it more than some of the other places we visited. It's assisted, and I have nothing negative to say. The owner/operator is very friendly, and you can tell she cares about what she's doing. He said the food is OK. They're still recovering from COVID restrictions. They have had activities in the past, but they have not restarted them yet. It's a nice, homey house. It's not anything extremely fancy, but it's comfortable and well maintained for the age of the house. It's not pristine, but it's nice and comfortable. I think that's why my uncle liked it, actually.

took a tour earlier this year (2018) along with their other facility which was not too far. Arrived about dinner time at the first one and then went over to the second home. They are more of a home living situations and not a facility. There were only a few residents actually in residence at this time. There was less activity available other than to watch TV, read or play some table games or puzzles. Much too far away from where I live or work. Not the setting where my mother would thrive. The owner and the main attending caregiver have passion for what they do, but the locations were hilly and I don't think mom would be safe trying to navigate her rollator as result of fractured hip (most recently) around the property. If you are looking for a country setting, these may be the right fit for someone.

We chose Heather House for my son because we found it to be very clean, and well-appointed with furnishings. It had a nice yard, screened porch, and the lady who run the place was very good. We liked it, and we liked the area it was in. He's in a difficult age group, so he's not really happy where he is. He's very satisfied with the food.
