Had I not removed my mother from this nursing home she would have died. She originally went for rehab and never got therapy. Actually, there was three times where she was actually in her chair because they had gotten her out of bed. The entire time while being a resident, she was sick. Had I not removed my mother from this nursing home she would have died. She originally went for rehab and never got therapy. Actually, there was three times where she was actually in her chair because they had gotten her out of bed. The entire time while being a resident, she was sick. Her first week there she ended up getting shingles became very encephalopathic, but instead of recognizing the signs and symptoms and change in a patients status, they sat on her for three days. By day three, she was sent to the hospital because she was unresponsive. She stayed the course, did her antivirals and went back to the nursing home and within another Week or so she became encephalopathic again. This time she had a UTI. She went back to the hospital. She did the hospital course and went back to the same nursing home. Within another week and a half, maybe two she was back at the hospital because she was Encephalopathic, this time with another UTI except a different strain of bacteria. Once again she did the course received her Antibiotics and went back to the nursing home. The last straw was when I came in to see my mother and I could not get a response out of her. She was completely out of it, unable to respond to pain much less unaware of her surroundings and when I checked in with her nurse and I quote the nurse stated “we realize something was wrong this morning so we sent off stat labs but you snuck up here before the results could come back. “ By then it was 2 o’clock in the afternoon and I immediately told them to send my mother out. I asked them to Check her blood sugar, Check her vital signs and get her oxygen. She was sent back to the hospital and this time with another UTI of a different strain of bacteria and for me that was my last straw. I immediately got with case management and recommended she be sent to an entire different nursing home. While at Harborview, she rarely got therapy. She rarely got out of bed and she rarely knew who she was or the people around her. The sense of urgency for the nurses is bare minimum. Advocating and sending out their patients due to a mental status change should be number one and that seem to be last on the list for these patients. I sent her to another nursing home and immediately there was a change. She got her therapy. She got her mind back and she is now mobile and functional back to her baseline in which she was before she arrived at Harborview of Rome. To the families who must send their Loved one to this facility be very aware be very mindful document everything and advocate for your loved one! What should’ve been a 15 day stay for my mother turned out to be a five month stay between two facilities, including this one. By the time she made it to the second facility, she was very deconditioned
Be extremely cautious when allowing your family member to stay here. They keep all residents high on Narcotics and when a nurse speaks out, they ban the nurse from the facility for attitude and cooperation. They are treating people ineffectively causing them to decline medically, leaving them dependent on Opioids. They also leave new admits over night without any medication and admission process that actually allows the patient to continue medication regimen. They are not educating residents on non-pharmacological ways to cope and manage their care. They leave one nurse to an entire wing…

They are not educating residents on non-pharmacological ways to cope and manage their care. They leave one nurse to an entire wing throughout the night, therefore your family or loved one may be severely neglected. Instead of making necessary changes for the betterment of their residents. They silence the ones who speak out. The people who manage this place are sick. They leave residents in beds that don’t lock leading to major fall risks. CNAs sleep throughout night shift, and the shift manager Victoria doesn’t even call them out. They set up chairs and tables, lay their heads down and sleep until it’s time for their last rounds at 4am. The facility does nothing to prevent this. Residents decline in this environment. It took an agency nurse to speak out and administration followed up by banning her from the facility. If you have family here, request to see the camera footage and check the medications that are being given to your family. Please advocate for your family and loved ones!! DON’T CHOOSE THIS PLACE!!
My mother had to stay here for three weeks and I must say that the staff here were absolutely amazing!!! Every person I came in contact with showed genuine compassion and the utmost respect. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones.
Our family cannot thank the staff at this nursing home enough for the incredible care they provide to my grandmother. She has dementia and requires more assistance than we alone can provide. Entrusting someone else with that level of care is never easy, but this team has given us complete confidence that she is in caring and capable hands. They all treat my grandmother with patience, dignity, and compassion every day. They go above and beyond to ensure she is clean, safe and well cared for. Their kindness and dedication give our family tremendous. peace of mind. This facility doesn't just provide excellent care- it creates a true sense of community and helps residents maintain a meaningful quality of life. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who works here and the love, compassion and dedication they show every day. We highly recommend this facility to any family searching for a place where their loved one will be treated with respect, kindness and genuine care.
My grandmother was put in here after an accident for rehab ( her knee) and while she was there she roomed with a sweet old lady who never got the help she needed. Anytime we called or visited her roommate would be yelling for help because the staff rarely came to check on them. She would press a button for help and nothing would happen so she had to call the front desk for help when they came to help her all they did was turn on the ac and take their food from lunch(it was 4pm) her roommate was saying she had trouble breathing. This has happened on many occasions that I've seen or heard in the past 3 weeks, no one in a nursing home should ever get that kind of treatment. I wish I could write everything that I saw while i was there but I don’t think I can type that many words for a review. There would be an essay. Please don’t send your family here they will not be given the respect and care they deserve.
My brother was there a couple years ago, sent there from Redmond hospital for rehab. He had surgery to repair his torn pelvis region and was unable to walk. Their rehab consisted of getting him out of bed and sitting him in a chair for one hour and leaving him alone. Then coming back and getting him out of the chair and putting back in bed. So much for rehab! He died a week after being released from Harbor View. Food was awful. Bed was old and terrible also.
Would be a better rating but we had trouble finding the place because their address is listed as Redmond rd not Redmond circle. The address is wrong
My husband was a paient. This place has roache bugs. We kill 5.This place is ruled down. The heating unit is old as a hill.Window seal was about to fall off. Beds were old.The day before my husband was to go hone from rehab, then wore his legs out.His right knee swell up and was bruised. Not counting the time the nurse pulled his patch off his bottom. She pulled skin off it poured blood He call that place prison. I would not let your love ones ever attend here.
