Good place to live Easy to make friends Lots of activities
Unfortunately I feel it's gone downhill. Especially the food. Management changes Frequently. They also accept Residents that should be in assisted living .
Do not be fooled by the beautiful grounds. The terrible management erases anything positive about this place. I just moved my mother out after four months because of a series of negative interactions with staff. 1). Management would walk into her apartment without knocking or without prior notice. Naturally, this is a huge invasion of privacy, and she was genuinely frightened that someone random was going to walk in at any given time. 2). Her “housekeeper” actually told her that she was also a realtor, and she took my mother off grounds to look at houses. She had her “attorney cousin” get my…

Her “housekeeper” actually told her that she was also a realtor, and she took my mother off grounds to look at houses. She had her “attorney cousin” get my mother’s bank info so they could see if they could sell her a house. My mother was afraid for this housekeeper to return to her apartment. 3). When we moved in, my mother was told to select a paint color because they had to paint in between tenants. Now that we have moved out, they have charged her $[removed] for the shade of white she chose. I could go on. The grounds are pretty. People awful.
The Vickery Rose Retirement Community's head of sales was just wonderful and did a great job. I thought she really hit all the high points, and I essentially didn't have any questions when I left. However, I just didn't care about the place. The location is on a very busy street. The rooms were a little bit tired, too. They have lots of activities, and that's great. However, I've lived in a gated community, and I can look out at beautiful mountains, so I wasn't quite ready to go to something where I have absolutely no view. The apartment didn't have the molding, either. It had been freshly painted, and it was actually just getting ready to be occupied. I met the chef. She insisted on me having lunch. It was 1:00, and I had not eaten since 7:00, so she prepared the food. It looked outstanding. I had a lovely salad. The person that I saw was very, very nice. I understand the owners live there as well, so that's certainly a plus. The staff was outstanding too.
What we like the most about Vickery Rose is that the community is friendly, pretty and easy to get around. We also like that the managers live there. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far
Minimal staff turnover. Small enough that the staff knows all the residents. The residents also look out for each other.
This place is helpless and needs more support.
Overall one of the best 55 communities in the Roswell / Alpharetta area at about the $[removed]/month price point. The location is both easily accessible, yet secluded. It is off highway 92, with its own property with no nearby commercial neighbors. There is a nice pathway in the front around a small lake. The inside has a nice size open air atrium, with a huge dinning area, card/activity area, salon, gym, general store, and huge theatre. The rooms are nice size. The food is good, with a 24 hour snack station, and don't miss prime rib Sundays! They have a bus that can take you shopping. The staff is friendly and attentive.
