I toured The Phoenix at Tucker as an option for my mother. I was very impressed by the facility, and am glad to see the reviews posted here.
My parent has been at Phoenix Tucker since a sudden health setback. They worked with us on a quick transfer and were extremely helpful and reassuring. The memory care facility is wonderful, and staff are truly caring and proactive with residents. Our experience so far has been amazing... exercise classes, engaging activities every day, on site hairdresser. All this and the personal attention from staff have made it a place we trust
We picked the Phoenix because they have controlled access to the front door. It allows them to handle dementia residents in their assisted living area. The problem is that they are not staffed to handle the care needs of a dementia resident in the assisted living area. And the memory care units are not suitable for a resident unless their dementia is so severe that they no longer need activities or food choices. It has the potential of being a good facility if they clean up these issues and staff appropriately. Really nice caregivers but they do leave out of frustration. As usual, this place…

I think there other, nicer facilities in the area - that we found when looking - but the best thing about this one, for me was/is #8 - VALUE FOR THE MONEY. I only know my Dads room. It is a one room efficiency it... adequate. Dining room adequate, choices of food adequate. They have in-house PT and regular group exercise. Contracted nursing/medical services. Good response time if/when one has complaints. Staff is accessible to talk to. I - as POA - am notified every and any time my father falls - no matter how minor or infrequent. It's happened a few times...
Not much communication from staff to family. Have tried numerous times to reach out to the wellness staff but they never return your calls or email. Still have no idea if physical therapy is an option for our mom as the staff have not communicated that info with us.
I visited The Phoenix at Tucker to look at their assisted living for my mom. It's very clean and very nice. Everything is in good condition and aesthetically appealing. The rooms were not very big. They're studios with a microwave and a dorm-sized fridge so they're not the biggest. There were a lot of gathering places throughout the facility that were very nice. If you wanted to hang out with someone, you didn't have just one option. There were a lot of places where you could be social so we thought of it as a kind of a substitute for a living area. The staff was very nice. I met with the activities person because that was a big concern of ours. My mom is still pretty active and would appreciate a lot of fun and activities to engage in so I'm impressed with her. We also spoke to the executive director and she was very generous with her time in answering our questions.
Great staff…Very warm people
I loved Phoenix for my dad but unfortunately he passed away about a year ago. 5 for all. Loved it in every way. It was like one big happy family. The staff honestly cared for their residents and we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.
