A new management has begun and I am seeing many great improvements to the property. I am very encouraged. 3 stars all with 4 stars for friendliness.
My mom recently moved to an assisted living. The inside of the property is fairly well maintained. The price is good compared to other properties in the area. The outside of the property is very poorly maintained. Debris around the building, stones on the retaining walls in need of repair, landscaping needs a lot of work, putting area looks awful, front door that is supposed to open when the handicap button is pushed does not work well. The staff at the front desk, maintenance and bus driver were all very nice. The management which changed a few times in the 1 year my mom was there were not…

The staff at the front desk, maintenance and bus driver were all very nice. The management which changed a few times in the 1 year my mom was there were not friendly and responded slowly if at all when contacted. I heard complaints many times from residence about their interactions with anyone in management. They had good food when she first moved in. Then it began to change. The food was not as good. The dinning staff ended up all walking out at one time. The last time I heard they still had not been replaced. If you are considering this property do your homework, ask a lot of questions and be willing to deal with the above-mentioned issues. Hopefully you will find a better option. The contract they use is very difficult and tenant unfriendly. I asked if there were to be health reasons that led to my mom needing to move from independent living to another facility with assisted living if they would work with me to cut short the length of the agreement without penalties and I was told they would. That did not happen. They were not the least bit sympathetic. With the Lodge it is all about them. I feel they do the minimum they can possibly do. Seniors deserve better
We toured The Lodge at Bridgemill. I liked it and it was very nice. However, the first apartment they showed us was extremely small, which shocked my sister, who's used to living in a house. Another drawback might be the big parking lot. They got shuttle buses there, and that was helpful. But I thought that it was a very nice tour. They did have a pool, which I thought was pretty nice. I guess you have to pay for it, but they have meals. You can have two meals, provided, if you don't feel like making dinner every night; if you pay for it in advance, you can go down and have their dinner, or…

1 bedroom apt very small. My sister wasn’t prepared for how small it was. The tour was very nice and they had various move in specials. The person giving the tour also showed us 2 other apartments.
The Lodge at Bridgemill was a beautiful location. The building was very nice. The people were wonderful because I was talking to a lot of the people who live there. The apartments were small and they had little bitty kitchens in them. They told me to get rid of my furniture but they're very precious to me, and I'm not getting rid of them. They have a lot of activities. They keep everybody very busy. I asked, "Can I have my family over for Thanksgiving dinner?" and the staff wouldn't answer me.
We toured The Lodge at Bridgemill for my mother. It was nice and clean. The unit they showed us was up-to-date, modern, and kept clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful and caring. They were nice and funny. We had fun with them.
I was really impressed with The Lodge at Bridgemill because they had a two bedroom at a good price, but the price doesn't include the meal. They only have breakfast and dinner and you have to pay separately for those. They have transportation if you need to get to a doctor or something. The person who gave the tour was real nice. He came to pick me up so I wouldn't have to drive and get lost. That was cool. It was a nice place, but the rooms for me were smaller and they didn't have a full kitchen. They didn't have a stove. They have activity directors and classes and they had a movie theater there. It was really neat. It was by two schools, but it was also deep woods. So, if you had a unit that was facing the woods, it was really nice. They said I could screen the porch if I wanted to (either that or the balcony). I have to pay for it myself and I could paint on the walls any color I wanted. So, they were up to letting you make it feel like you're home. There was a welcome sign up when I got there with my name on it. The tour person also took me home. If you wanted the pool, you had to go to the YMCA. The Lodge at Bridgemill was more of an apartment house, which was fine for me.
This community is absolutely a nightmare!! The company that was providing the food up and quit, they took the residents money!! Now the poor residents have to stand in line for almost 45 mins to wait for food that is brought in from local places and its awful!! The new company was supposed to start on 09/30, and guess what? They are not starting. Now they have to endure these conditions this month? My grandmother went to go use the shuttle today and it was cancelled because they had no one to drive it!! Most of the time the activities are also cancelled. The place is falling apart. No landscaping, decks are falling in and a staff that does NOT care!!! DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE WE DID!!!!
