My sister-in-law moved into Sumter Retirement Village. It's a lovely place. From the moment we drove up and parked, I was overwhelmed. It blew every expectation I had. I did not expect it to be as beautiful and well-kept as it was. The grounds are beautiful. The place had three televisions, some couches, and some people were sitting around. It was clean, and it smelled nice. It was just a welcoming sight. They offer three meals a day and two snacks. They have a big kitchen, a large staff, and a lovely dining room that opens to a screen porch and a courtyard with a gazebo and chairs. Then, it…

Then, it overlooks a farm area where the cows and other animals come up and entertain everybody. Aside from that, they offer to do their laundry and dispense their medications, and there's a pharmacy in the area that delivers the meds once you get registered. They have all kinds of activities, daytime activities. A lot of women are playing cards. There's always something going on. There's a big event going on at all times. And then they also offer trips into town. They put everybody in the van and take them into town for lunch at one of the restaurants once a month or once every other month. They take them to special things happening in the town of Plains and offer trips to doctors, dentists, and whatever else they might need. My sister-in-law loves the food. We had lunch there one day, and the food was very good. It was very well-balanced. They have a menu that they can look at for the week ahead. And if they don't like something on the menu, they could work on substitutes. There are options at the bottom of the menu where they can choose different things.

I understand that most residents are very dissatisfied with the new administration. Cafeteria has declined. Cable tv has been removed. Tense atmosphere.

I toured Sumter Retirement Village. They were very pleasant. They seemed excited to have me move in and it happens that the manager of the facilities has similar hobbies as I do and is excited to have me there. The facility seemed very nice. The villa that they're going to put me in, they're going to remodel and fix up. It has not been occupied in a while. So they're going to redo the floors and the walls for me and get it ready for me to move in.

We love this place . It’s super clean and great staff !! Would recommend this place to everyone needing to place a loved one in an assisted living facility. The owner are super sweet and care about their patients !!

My Mother lived at SRV over 3 years. The employees were so kind and helpful when she fell at home. Employees always are there when you need them . I recommend SRV to anyone looking for care for your love one. Delicious meals three times a day, housekeeping, and fun activities, and Pastors come during week for devotion for our residents.

My mom is adjusting to her new place at Sumter Retirement Village. It's very good. I would say everything is the best right now. I like that she is able to interact with other residents. Her apartment is great. The staff is very professional and good. They have activities for them and a good activities director who works with them. She loves the food and it is very good. They're doing great. She has been there for a couple of weeks, but they do things like manicures and they will let the residents have parties. The location is very good and very nice.

Sumter Retirement Village was very nice. The only thing for me was the fact that it was in Plains, Georgia, so that was gonna be a real travel for me. I like the homey feel of it. The staff was very good. It was clean and professional. It was a very good location. It was not in a real crowded community. It's right in the middle of town, but it was accessible to the downtown area, and eating establishments. The rooms were very clean and very nice. The grounds were well-kept. The facility was well-kept. Everything was well-kept. It was not dirty or anything like that. It had a homey feeling with the greenery, the strawberries, and the landscaping. It was very pleasant. It's a place to consider.

I love visiting the residents in the village. They all seem happy and lovingly cared for. Ocassionally, there is however a disgruntled employee who loves to stir the pot and create problems by giving bad reviews, but overall it is still a great retirement center.
