The staff is great, they go above and beyond expectations. They are all friendly and polite as well as going out of their way to help you and the residents
Having a private room, bathroom and porch is one of the best things about this assisted living home. The outdoor sitting areas are great. Food is mostly hot dogs, sandwiches, chips, carb-heavy breakfast; lunch is usually the best meal of the day with some variety of meat and vegetables. There is no RN on staff or on call therefore the "elder caregiver" must follow the care plan of the home health or hospice or physician of each resident. Assessment is specifically a function of the RN role and assessing a resident's need for an as needed (not scheduled) medication would be left up to…

There is no RN on staff or on call therefore the "elder caregiver" must follow the care plan of the home health or hospice or physician of each resident. Assessment is specifically a function of the RN role and assessing a resident's need for an as needed (not scheduled) medication would be left up to non-medical staff. This could be a problem if the resident who is "aging in place" has decreased consciousness, dementia or becomes increasingly nonverbal. Assisted living community is a great transition between home alone and nursing home. However, a resident at end of life who remains in an assisted living home should have someone continually present to advocate for her when she is not able to adequately express her wishes.
Any assisted living facility is inappropriate for residents with cognitive decline or inability to advocate for themselves. There is no RN on staff or on call. "Elder caregivers" would be assessing and administering medications. This is especially concerning for hospice patients on morphine and other controlled drugs. Some staff, not all, feel "called" to work with the elderly. Focus here is on ability to move independently and eat regular food, not increasingly bedbound or transitioning to softer foods. In any case, the menu is unhealthy; lots of simple carbs with little protein or fresh…

Some staff, not all, feel "called" to work with the elderly. Focus here is on ability to move independently and eat regular food, not increasingly bedbound or transitioning to softer foods. In any case, the menu is unhealthy; lots of simple carbs with little protein or fresh vegetables or fruit. Outdoor spaces are great. Private room, bathroom and porch are a good compromise between home alone and nursing home with less privacy. Expensive because it's private pay. Even though it's advertised as "age in place" it is not best at end of life.
The ambiance here is always inviting and comfortable. The facility is well-maintained and clean, and the staff is always friendly and helpful Brandi always welcomes you with a smile on her face. Jessica and sierra are very attentive and always willing to help out with any need that might arise.
Our mom “Moma Jane” was there for 2 years and I will say that we all loved and appreciated the love and care that was given to mom by the staff at Pleasant Valley. Unfortunately she passed away in December 13, 2024. I would say on her behalf that the meals were not exactly what she wanted but other than that all was good. We gave it a thumbs up
I have been coming to visit at this place going on 5 years now. It's a terrible place and they don't take care of their people. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. To be private and pay so much money. The girls open up cans of soup and that's all the home cooking they get. I could say more, I've kept quiet for way too long
I went to Pleasant Valley Personal Care. When I got there, it was very dark. There were people sitting in wheelchairs looking out windows. It wasn't as vibrant as the other two I went to. The staff there was very considerate and very nice, but it didn't seem like a pleasant place to live just because of how sedentary and dark it was. The rooms were small and old. It's an older facility and it didn't feel homey. The staff who gave the tour was very compassionate and very kind, but the community wasn't as energetic and lively as the other places that I had toured.
This place was so homey and relaxed! The staff was friendly, and the residents seemed happy. The place was very clean and the food being cooked in the open kitchen smelled delicious. They even had fresh vegetables they brought in from the garden out back. It's a small place, family owned, so it really seems like a home instead of a "facility".
