I toured Overture Barrett 55+ Apartment Homes. It's a very active community. They have a monthly calendar, and they always have some kind of activity or something for the seniors every week. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and helpful. The decor was beautiful and very nice. They have fire pits outside and a movie theater. The food was very good. It was an event, and they had caterers come in and prepare food for different occasions.
I love Overture Barrett 55+ Apartment Homes. The staff told me it was $1799, but when I got the paperwork, it said the starting rate for a one-bedroom, one-bath, 701 square feet is $1849. It's got a heated pool and you can grow your own herbs and whatever, and it's close to everything, close to my hospital and to the VA Hospital. One thing I don't like about it, since they are apartments, you have to pay for your own utility like your own water and light. The people who assisted me were excellent. The cleanliness was excellent.
I toured Overture Barrett 55+ Apartment Homes. That place had some beautiful apartments, except it had really no food service, and I really did feel like I needed it. That was worse, and they were planning on making changes. Everything else was great. They didn't seem to have as many social activities like crafts and cards and stuff like that. It was more like a 55-plus apartment building, but I wanted a little bit more. The prices were higher, too. They didn't really offer any meals. I don't consider bagels once a week or yogurt once a week for breakfast any kind of meal plan. I can do that…

I don't consider bagels once a week or yogurt once a week for breakfast any kind of meal plan. I can do that myself. I wanted something that I wasn't going to have to cook and clean up. The staff that I met and walked with was nice.
We went to Overture Barrett 55+ Apartment Homes. I like the programs that they had available for the seniors as well as the size of the apartments were very suitable. They weren't tiny apartments, which was great. The bedrooms were a nice size, and they had lots of activities that they presented for the seniors as well. The open and common space was nice, and everything was clean and welcoming.
Overture Barrett 55+ Apartment Homes was totally independent. The location was really, really good, but I didn't like the cost. It was a little pricy. The staff was really good. The facility was kind of new. The dining area was really nice. The rooms were really nice and they had choices. They had the one- and two-bedrooms. They had the option of having a library. They have washer and dryer connections. I like the inclusivity of it in that maintenance for all the appliances was included. Overall, it was really nice. It was very warm, welcoming, and laid back. It looked like everybody was really enjoying themselves. They were playing cards and watching TV. They had a calendar of events.
I visited the Overture Barrett 55+ Apartment Homes and the layout is great. They have a swimming pool, which was great, and it was heated to 80 degrees. They had continental breakfast, I think Mondays through Fridays but other than that, they do not serve food except maybe on special occasions. They have a washer and dryer in their apartments. They're wheelchair accessible and both were front loaders, which was great for me. The counters were also lower in both the kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom had all of the bars so I would have felt safe there. It had large closets and the kitchen had a refrigerator. It also had a balcony. I wanted to go there but the apartment that was available was not wheelchair accessible so I had to wait. The staff was friendly and wanted to help meet your needs.
The main floor the hallways the carpet is filthy dirty, dog pee I seen n the elevator,it took about 6 months to get rid of the roaches,2,000 a month is what it cost for 1 bedroom, had to complain about the carpet not being vacuum on the forth floor 3 weeks till I said something so everything else is ok that’s my issues
I liked Overture Barrett. I liked the staff better than another place that I toured. The apartments were nicer, and I liked the floorplan. The facility was newer, and the lobby was bigger. They had vegan snacks, which was a pleasant surprise. However, I didn't like that it was not accessible to public transportation. The bus only came once an hour and did not come on Sunday at all. That was a big factor for me and ultimately the reason I did not choose them.
