I called kindly to ask about care after searching for my father for months for the right place only to be told by the woman that answered the phone " no space here" and hung up on me. :(
Our family had an in person tour and our tour experience was great, the lady we met with was extremely kind and friendly
Pretty nice
Elaine's Personal Care Home was very nice and that's why I was trying to get my sister in there. We had taken measures to put her in, but things changed because of the situation with my sister. I had no problem with Elaine's. I was very impressed with it. The layout was fine. To me, I think it it suited to what we need. The area was well maintained. It was very conducive too as far as I could tell. The room was fine and well maintained. The particular room that she was going to be in had a bathroom within the room. The size was sufficient for what she needed. There was a small seating area. I don't know about the activities, but they did offer three meals per day plus two or three snacks. They had nursing care and physician care. The physician came in and did blood pressure checks and everything like that. They also provided prescription assistance if you want to have your prescriptions transferred there. I met one lady and she was very friendly and cordial, and the director was very impressive. Out front, they had areas where they could sit out on the porch and an area in the back. I didn't go in the back to view it, but I think they had facilities where they could go out, sit, and take a walk. I was very impressed with it. I didn't get a chance to see how they operate, but from what I was shown and from the response and answer to my questions, they seemed to be up to it and professional. It was very well kept and very clean. It didn't have any odor or anything like that.
I moved into Elaine's Personal Care Home a couple of weeks ago. I chose it for the price. The staff is nice. It's a house, and I wish the rooms were bigger, but it is what it is. It's private, and it seems to be pretty quiet, so you hardly hear anybody else. It's clean. I'm not very happy with the food; some things are pretty good, then there's things that aren't . I'm a diabetic, and I let them know that. I keep getting stuff that I shouldn't eat, but by the time they get it to me, I'm hungry anyway, because I only eat three times a day, so I just eat what they give me. The bed's a little crooked, and I told them about that, and I need a response back on it.
We were not impressed with this community. The community did not seem very appealing. The building looked dated and it did not look clean. This was the least favorite community we looked at.
I'm a care giver for an 87 year old friend who could no longer reside alone in a retirement community, I moved my friend to Killian Hill Personal Care Home (KHPCH) after visiting KHPCH and meeting with Marlyn, her staff as well as the residents. I was extremely impressed with Marlyn and her staff and with the home. My friend is very well taken care of all day and everyday. My friend is very happy at KHPCH, he enjoys all his meals and says that he doesn't miss one. Marlyn has tailored the meals to suit the tastes of all the residents. In the time he has been there I have not heard one complaint from him about his new home. Marlyn keeps me up to date on my friend's condition and reminds me in a timely fashion when his meds supply is running low and when other personal items are needed. Since day one, Marlyn, her staff and the other residents have been very friendly to me and my wife when we visit our friend. I highly recommend Killian Hill Personal Care Home to anyone who has a loved one that needs personal assistance with their Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
Thank you to Marlyn and all the staff for taking care of my mom when she could no longer live by herself. The home was always clean and well maintained, and we knew she would be safe there. We loved the smaller home environment setting, and we were always welcome to visit anytime. Mom had her own private room, and she enjoyed sitting in the den with the other residents watching television or chatting. They did exercises, crafts, singing, and read scripture together. Mom especially loved sitting on the front porch rocking chairs when the weather was nice. Mom had dementia and asked the same questions a hundred times a day, and the staff always had patience with her. They lovingly cared for her and always alerted us to any changes they noticed in her eating, sleeping, bathroom habits or in her emotional state of mind. They made sure she got all her medications at the correct times and helped with her personal grooming. The staff had sincere concern for mom’s well being, and we appreciate all they did for her.
