I would never trust this facility with my parent. It seems like they care more about getting paid than the health and well-being of their residents. Maintenance is terrible and takes forever to address issues. The building has a serious roach problem, and many of the nurses and directors are rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. There have also been very serious safety concerns that, in my opinion, were not handled with the transparency they deserved. Based on what I witnessed and experienced, I believe this facility should be investigated. Overall, this is not a place I would recommend to…

This is the 2nd time our Mom has been at Delmar Gardens for Rehab. The entire staff are amazing and professional, and the rooms and building are always clean. Moms been in other rehabs over the years after an hospital stay, and DELMAR IS THEE BEST, and most importantly mom feels comfortable and happy when she’s there. She said if she ever needed to go full time into Nursing home, DELMAR is where she wants to go. Thank you to all your amazing staff from admissions, to nursing staff, to housekeeping and kitchen staff for your great care of our mom.

I have a family member staying here, it is so disgusting to know that every time a package or mail is sent to the residents it is STOLEN- send mail certified mail personnel signs the residents name absolutely disgusting humans stealing from the elderly!! Do not have your family or loved ones stay here !!

It seems that anyone needing a Hoya lift cannot be in just any assisted living facility. At Delmar Gardens I can hire an "outside" caregiver group to care for my husband.

Delmar Rehab Services was very helpful with getting our loved one the care he needed. Quincy Elmore was an excellent employee of Delmar and a great help as well!

Delmar is fine, it's starting to cost more for my mom. She likes it there, I should have looked into the facility further. Dining is nice there but the food service and the meals could be better. Should be better. My mom had tomato soup she said tasted like warned V8 juice. When I've have visited and had meals with her I wasn't thrilled. School lunches are better. They offer sugar free deserts but never have them available. My mom may not make it through the year, so we will let her live out her time there. They are updating that's a plus. It certainly has helped with the smell especially in the dining hall. I'll change my stars from 2 to 4. Over all there OK, most of the staff care. But they need better cooks. The veal last week was not good., it was boiled!? Like I said they need better cooks. Food should always be a priority.

My husband is now at the skilled nursing facility of Delmar Gardens of Smyrna. They provided good care for him. He is getting a little bit interested in some of the activities. They do have a good rehab program there. And I don't know that he's progressing that much, but he seems to enjoy going to rehab. They exercise and play bingo. They also have music. The food has been good. Most of the staff has been good. They seem to be compassionate and caring people. And they're good at what they do. The CNAs are very knowledgeable. They know how to do their job well.

My personal opinion: Do NOT send your loved one here. We had no choice because they were the only facility with an open bed. My mother was sent there for physical rehab and the entire first week she was there she didn't leave her bed. The other 3 weeks she maybe had one hour a day of physical therapy. The food was always cold, the hallways always wreaked of urine, she was lucky if she got a diaper change twice a day. They also have a bug problem there. Most of the employees have an attitude problem with the exception of one or two that seemed like they actually cared. Stay far away from this place!
