When I first walked in the front doors it felt like home. Everyone’s so friendly and helpful. Having a place that is family owned and the owner is there to support them makes it even better. Daybreak is one of a kind. Not corporate owned. When I questioned the turnover rate, well they have all been there 5 years or more, that is just unheard of and speaks volumes to me.
My husband was at Daybreak Village Senior Living. What I had wasn't a gourmet meal, but it was good. It's around Christmastime now, and they had things decorated very tastefully, not overdone, but it was a warm setting. I cannot say enough nice things about it. He was in bad shape when he went there and they realized that. They took care of him. They would even call me at different times. One time he got sores on his hip and they would call to tell me how they were turning him and what they were doing. I couldn't say enough good things about Daybreak. One time he got sores on his hip and they would call to tell me how they were turning him and what they were doing. I couldn't say enough good things about Daybreak. He was in memory care, and I saw that they had patients at these tables trying to do occupational therapy, and they were always doing something. My husband didn't participate in that because he was unable to. I can't tell how qualified the staff were, but I can tell that if they weren't qualified, they made up for it with their kindness, and just being there. When he passed away, when we were waiting for the very last minute, they came in, they had someone sit with us, and they brought food in.
My husband, dog Charlie and I visited my precious friend Pogo recently. Wow! What a friendly staff, clean and beautifully appointed facility, and warm welcome to visitors! Pogo is well cared for and treated with respect. Kudos to Daybreak Village!
Although Daybreak Village looks very good on the surface when considering the obvious: cleanliness, cost, meals, activities; they fall very short when it comes to dealing with anyone who might need more careful attention or handling. DB is fine if your loved one can manage on their own, but I would not recommend them for anyone with dementia. We experienced multiple incidences that indicated the staff is not trained in this area. The main problem was their inability to decompress a situation when my mom was annoyed or confused. DB response was automatically to say she had a UTI and wanted her removed from the facility and taken to the hospital. If we weren’t there to pick my mom up within about 15 - 30 min, they would call an ambulance. Their solution to whatever was happening was simply have my mom removed - problem solved. Instead of taking a little extra time or effort, they would always just want her taken away. We moved mom to another facility that is trained and it’s great.
Rude staff. very unprofessional. My grandmother cried and begged me to get her out of this place.
Great assisted living and nice place to work
The staff always have a smile they keep you informed of all is going on friendly, and even send pictures to your phone., which I always enjoy.
My Mom is a new resident at DayBreak and has made friends easily. The care is more personal than her last experience. She gets more involved in smalls groups and enjoys the activities. Her favorite thing to do is sit with the ladies under the covered porch and chat. DayBreak has a feel of a home and not a hotel. Breakfast and lunch are the better meals. Dinner is light. Mom is safe, happy and close enough so I can visit her often.
