My brother has been a resident at Viva for over a year. We installed a camera because we cannot always be there, and it allows us to communicate and check on him. My brother has been a resident at Viva for over a year. We installed a camera because we cannot always be there, and it allows us to communicate and check on him. We haven't had any major issues until recently. The first incident was reported to the facility director and was concerning a staff member. More specifically, my brother had returned from the hospital, and needed his undergarments to be checked every two hours due to a severe infection (UTI), and he's paying for this level of care. We had noticed a few concerns via the camera so we went to the facility to check on him, the first concern was that they had gotten him up that morning from a wet bed, and just pulled the covers up, when we got there 2 to 3 hours later the bed was still made up with the sheets and covers still wet. We called staff and they corrected that situation. We went to visit another resident in memory care and was gone for about an hour, upon returning to my brother's room we found food sitting in front of him, meaning a staff member had brought him his lunch meal, and this was later confirmed via the camera we have in the room, I could smell something foul and found that he needed his undergarments changed, he pressed his button for assistance, after 20 minutes of no response, I could not let him sit in the mess any longer so I cleaned him up and had to put him in the shower myself (keep in mind, we are paying for this service (level of care))! After 30 minutes someone finally came in. I was so upset when I left the facility that I made a phone call to the staff nurse (Vallory), during our conversation another staff member (Angel) interjected her self into the conversation which became elevated, while trying to talk to Angel she told me to be quiet, (to stop talking), and that we could just take him out of the facility, I have never been so rudely talked to, it was very unprofessional on her part. I immediately brought that incident to the center director's attention. My next concern happened a few days after reporting that incident, via camera, we saw that my brother was not checked on for over an eight hour period. I bring this up because I'm concerned for my brother and feel that nothing has been done to rectify the concerns! The only staff member that has shown any concern and possible solutions is Vallory, that is the reason I first reached out to her.

My husband was recently in this wonderful facility in the Memory Care Unit. He had been battling Parkinson’s Disease since 2019 and I had been his only Caregiver. After another fall in January, he could no longer walk and the disease was rapidly accelerating. I could not have chosen a better “home away from home” for him to live! ALL of the staff (Director, Nurses, Caregivers, Activity Director Food Service, Housekeeping) were extremely caring and compassionate - even giving ME hugs when he was having a bad day. Sadly he passed away after living there only two months but what a blessing those…

Our father is a resident at Viva Senior Living. Dad is happy and that makes us super happy. He enjoys the food including their broccoli, also the music and activities in memory care. All the staff greets you, even if they work in assisted living. The facility and his room is kept clean. Shout out especially to staff members Mercedes, Susan, Nita and Gwen!

Very friendly people!!!!! Enjoyed our visit here!

Viva of Albany has an attractive and inviting outside. The staff as you enter are friendly with a sense of warmth and welcome. The facility itself is beautifully maintained, and clean with inviting decorations. My husband is in the Memory Care Community. The Memory Care staff is friendly and compassionate in caring for him. The food is delicious and nutritious meals with snacks provided served in a pleasant dining area. The staff as has provided the family with information for help in obtaining additional services as needed. A variety of engaging group and individual activities are provided. He loves the dog visits. The positive impact on this community has enabled my husband to thrived. I recommend Viva, especially for persons in needed of Memory Care senior living

I toured Viva Senior Living at Albany. The building's layout is like a circle, so if the residents go full circle they won't get lost, and I like that. The people there were very nice and knowledgeable. They answered my questions. It was a good atmosphere. The staff member who gave me the tour did a very good job of taking her time and showing me around. She showed me the areas where they did the activities. I met one of the residents there and we talked for a while. It was a very nice and cozy place. I looked at the studio apartment that was available at the time. The facility had a courtyard and a couple of library areas, too. If you want to visit with your loved ones, there is a private area where you can eat together. There is also the main area. They offer three meals a day, and in their rooms they have refrigerators and things like that so that you can have snacks too. It was very accommodating.

My mom has stayed there for respite day care and overnight stay. It seems like a nice place. I love that each room has its own bathroom. I’m looking for places for my mom ,but the cost per month is out of my budget. We Can’t afford it. [name removed] is very helpful, nice and understanding. I will continue to use respite care.

I love this place! My dad has been a resident for almost a whole year in the memory care wing. He enjoys his home. It's a tough industry where turnover is high, but the ladies and gentleman that work here always go above and beyond! I know he is safe and well taken care of. There are always events happening for the residents. And not just little events, but all out decorations and food and lots of fun for everyone, residents and their families. Special shout out to Kim who made the entire process of bringing my dad in easy. She also does a wonderful job with the events and holidays. I highly recommend Viva.
