4.5 · 16 reviewsThey were very friendly initially promised they’d be able to help me with my failing mom, but never got a call back stopped in couple times and got blown off every time. If you have a lot of money and you’re in relatively good health, they’ll consider you but they blew my mom off. And never helped like they promised
Yes, maybe you find a less expensive option but they are hands down better at caring for our families than any other facility in the state!
Brought the entire family for lunch with Grandma. Gina was our server. She was great! She was a perfect host and very funny. We had a great experience

Such a wonderful place full of loving people. There are always activities going on in memory care- every time I go by the activities planner is sitting with the residents, doing activities and sometimes just visiting and making them laugh! My mom adores her and she makes every resident feel loved, seen, and valued. From the time you enter the building - being greeted and welcomed by the sweet people at the front desk, to the director of memory care, and the people who take care the residents daily, I’m just in awe of the relationships they build and way they make my mom feel loved! My MIL has been living at Varenita for about 2 years. It was great in the beginning but when new management came in everything changed. Now we are paying way more than initially and the care has decreased quite a bit. They don't check on their patients nearly enough. The other day my husband visited and was livid when he got home because they had left his mother who has dementia and incontinence sitting in a puddle of her own urine for quite a while as it had soaked through her poise pad, depends underwear, and towel she was sitting on through to her recliner. Plus, he had called earlier to ask someone to check on her because it was hot in her room and they never did. It was 86 degrees in her apartment and she was sweating. It's like they don't really care about the people living there anymore. This new management company only cares about getting their money.
My mother has been living here for over 2 years, and it was a great AL facility, a bit pricy but it offered excellent care and amenities. Since Sunrise has taken over the management of Varenita, the fees have increased, and the level of care has decreased. The cut back on staff has really hurt what used to be an outstanding facility. I hope they realize this and make a course correction soon. The people there wonderful. They just need more of them.
My husband transferred from a different memory care facility to Varenita! Best move ever! Extremely caring and friendly staff and fun activities!
I toured with Maureen and not only was she knowledgeable her community presented very well. My brother is going back next week.
