Spring Harbor at Green Island

So if you think I was wrong then you can delete me. You can say I brought this on myself. But making a living doesn’t mean you do it at the expense of others. I tried to do it the correct way. I spoke to my lead so she could take it to operations. I tried to give this employee the benefit of the doubt that sometimes some folks just make a bigger mess. Then I discovered that these residents pay for this service weekly. The last resident I went to had cobwebs a foot out in the corners. I was in tears while looking for my operations manager. Everyone said that person wasn’t on site so I went to HR. The following Tuesday in our morning meeting. I asked if there were any other cleaners because what they have are like Eco lab but another brand. Some situations need something a bit better for super scrubbing. Another employee said I didn’t need to be talking about other housekeepers, they knew I went to HR. In the break room that employee also said you need to leave you don’t want any of this. I was later called into the managers office and told your a good person you do a good job but your difficult. It was everything I could do not to cry. I was y going to give him that satisfaction. I am very sad for these residents and I was disappointed that I was fired for doing the right thing. The right thing won’t get you ahead in life though. I can not standby and watch it though and you can condemn me or say I shoulda kept my mouth shut like the other employees. This kind of filth is not possible in a week though and if you compromise in life you ain’t no better. I hope that something changes for them because it’s not right. So Spring Harbor at Green Islands in Columbus you should be ashamed of yourself. Shame on you. I know I am going to catch some crap from this but guess what, I’m tougher than that and you don’t want none of this! Shame on you

Everyone - residents and staff - was/were friendly, staff was professional.

My long time elderly freind was a resident there for a short time and was always crying and complaining about wanting to leave, Docs and Nurses are ok from the eye but sometimes you have to watch staff....The Chefs and Cooks are wonderful at what they do, but as for the serving staff. (Note....) Will and Zendaya over the serving and cleaning staff they aren't professionally capable of their jobs. My daughter was employed by them for almost a yr and found out she was pregnant.. They fired her on her day off and she was ordered to walk off of the premises without any concrete evidence and Zendaya is the one who asked her to come in on her day off and she would provide a ride.. Will didn't handle things correctly there are always two sides to a story..... Seriously do better by the ones you manage.. 💯

I had toured Spring Harbor. I loved it; however, it was one of the places where you bought into it for life, and I couldn't afford the initial payment. It was like a minimum of $200,000. It was that kind of a place. It was about perpetual care, but the initial cost was too much for me. But it was a beautiful facility. The apartments for independent living are larger. The activities are first class, high end, and very cultural. They take their residents to cultural events in the city. They have lots of sporting and physical activities. It's just a very active community. The facility itself is immaculate and elegant. Everything about it is very high end. It's lovely. Everyone I met was extraordinarily friendly. There's a full-time physician available on the premises. It's just an extraordinary place, but it is expensive.
