SEE PHOTOS FOR FULL REVIEW!!!! Sears seemed like an amazing facility from the beginning. SEE PHOTOS FOR FULL REVIEW!!!! Sears seemed like an amazing facility from the beginning. The staff was friendly, and very attentive to both my grandmother's needs, as well as keeping us up-to-date on things going on. As time progressed, however, we started to see a different side. It started with billing. They told us that her insurance company was the worst one, and they wouldn't cover their on-staff care physician, nor cover the cost of her prescriptions. I changed her insurance. I then started to notice I was being billed for their physician charges on her monthly bill, as well as from the doctor's private practice (which is owned by the same company that owns Sears Manor). I was also still receiving a monthly bill for her prescriptions. I addressed this at a care meeting and they said it was a misunderstanding, to simply bring in the doctor's bills that they were sending us, because the physician was unaware that she was in their nursing home - I'm sorry, what? They're unaware? Aside from the fact that they told us in the beginning that they had an in-house doctor, but also a Physician's Assistant on staff at all times - I later found out that they weren't even seeing her in person, they're doing it via teleheath! We were also told that transportation would be covered by the facility, to any doctor's appointments she had, as long as they knew 3 days in advance. She's now missed 3 appointments due to their, "lack of communication between departments". Also, regarding their transportation policy - they informed me a week ago that the state of GA had changed their transportation company, and that instead of a 3-day notice, they'd now require a three week notice. They told me this policy went into effect on April 1, 2026. So, I asked why they wouldn't have informed us or any of the other member's families about this prior to April 1, and they said they weren't aware of it until it went into effect. So, that means you still waited until I called 20 days later to remind you of her appointment, and you still hadn't informed us? I quickly found out why, it was because if they didn't inform the patient's families, they'd then be able to charge the patient's families anywhere from $100-250 out-of-pocket, NOT ON THEIR BILL, BUT UP FRONT BEFORE THEIR APPOINTMENT. That just seems awfully convenient for their pockets. So, even after this was all discussed at her last care meeting, they agreed they'd cover the cost for her most recent appointment, which was scheduled for April 29, 2026. I also stated that the patient would have to have bloodwork drawn 2 days prior, and they said that wasn't a problem, that they could do the bloodwork at Sears Manor and ensure the doctors got it. We confirmed that appointment in person at the meeting. I called the doctor's office three days prior to the appointment, and asked them to fax over the necessary bloodwork to Sears Manor, and also confirm the appointment. FOR FULL REVIEW, PLEASE REVIEW PHOTOS, AS THE TYPED AREA WAS CUT OFF. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR EVEN MY WORST ENENY!
Nice. But 12 hrs mornings is not for me ...everyone was nice and helpful. The Don really is nice. She took me on a tour here .
Having to schedule to take a shower is ridiculous. Not a safe place to be at.Nasty.
After my husband was admitted for a week I posted a scathing review due to a travel nurse who was abusive and not being able to reach the administrator. After contacting the management company I was informed the administrator was at a conference which they were able to reach him and he contacted me immediately. The travel nurse was escorted out of the building. The care my loved one has received since has been top notch most days. Wound care was amazing. They saved his leg from amputation. Kim ( charge nurse) does not play when it comes to patient care. Of course, like any other facility, care depends on who is working that shift but he has had fewer issues here than any of the six facilities we've tried including a very expensive facility in Jacksonville. Thank you staff and administration for your care of my family member this last year.To Ross, keep up the good work . Your staff is amazing.
The rooms are run down and dirty. They are scaring off the workers that care for each resident as an individual. I have a family member there and if I could I would have said person moved to a cleaner and better staffed and safer location. I wish I could care for my family member myself. The only thing good is when we visit we can make other residents feel happy and cared about I see a lot of staff just sitting around and not interacting with residents.
I looked at Sears Coastal Nursing & Rehab. I went and toured it for my friend. It is very small. The rehab is on one side, and the long-term care is on the other side. The staff was very helpful. They did all the paperwork for my friend, but he changed his mind and didn't want to go to long-term care. There is a lot of noise from people who are in pain. You would hear a lot of people crying, so it's not very quiet. Some of them are incontinent. Even though the place is clean, you can still smell the issues that these clients have.
My sister was at Sears for only a couple of weeks before passing but the care from the staff was amazing. They were very caring and compassionate.
Will not answer the phone when you call to check on your loved one. I've been trying to get the DON or Administrator to call me back for over a week about concerns with 0 response. A nurse called me at 4:18 AM to see when I thought I could come get my ex husband out of there so I know they have working phones. He sat in feces for over an hour one night until I went up there to change him. Staff has the nastiest attitude ever.
