They are wonderful, and getting better. Somebody asked if The Retreat was a good place to bring children. I suppose that would depend on the reason for you bringing them. It would also depend on the age of the children. There's definitely no running in halls. There isn't a playground outside. I could see young people getting bored quickly. However on the other side of that; My sister and myself used to visit my great grandmother (mind you that was the late 70's). I loved spending time. My sister and myself were very well behaved tho, (in that environment). People have to respect that the facility as a whole is a "Home". You know your children. I'm sure the guests would love the laughter, and the light that comes with children. I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate being knocked down even if by accident. I imagine that some of the residents(if they can hear😊) might be startled by very loud noises. Take my view with a grain. Like I said earlier,, depends on the child, as well as the reason you would take them. I love this place. I love the people. I love the staff.
My sister and I were so lucky to find The Retreat. Our mom lives there (dementia) and she is so content and so well taken care of - we are thrilled with everyone who works at The Retreat. They are like angels on earth - truly a blessing. Bless them all!
The Retreat nursing home was excellent. They really took good care of the patients. They made sure they're fed and changed. They monitored them on a regular basis. They had a high rate of keeping people alive. The patients were like in a medical facility. The rooms were clean and basic -- nothing extraordinary. The staff were friendly, approachable, and dedicated. They didn't really have a dining area. They just brought the food to the people in bed. They were for somebody who's no longer walking and in their bed all the time. If they were completely disabled, that would be a recommendation.
