I lived there for almost a year and a half let me tell you I have seen so much happen there it's unbelievable.....From the cheapest non edible food to the egnoring the residents..I myself am a diabetic, one night my sugar drops and my house refused me anything...I walked over to Northwoods houses s omething. I wouldn't let anyone stay there......
I visited Northwoods Retirement Home, and we will be moving my father-in-law there. We chose it because they had a bed open and it was not very far from my house. It's a wonderful establishment. Everyone was very happy there, and we're very pleased with it. We drove by and with Covid rules, it's actually hard to get inside tours, but we were able to walk around on the outside and meet some of the residents outside. I was also able to see the room he was going to go into. The staff went above and beyond to answer all of my questions, they knew the residents by name, and you could tell that the…

I was also able to see the room he was going to go into. The staff went above and beyond to answer all of my questions, they knew the residents by name, and you could tell that the residents come up to them all the time and that there was no hesitation. The facility seems old, but in a very good standing. For the facility's maintenance, you're always going to have some going on, but they do a good job at knowing what it is and getting it repaired.
When I visited there about 3 years ago, I was impressed with the cleanliness, the variety of earth tone colors of the interior walls which made it feel like a true home and the manager who I believe was Mrs. Brooks was not only very nice and welcoming but also extremely easy to talk to, like a family member. We didn't place my mother there only because she moved in with us. She wanted to be really close to family.
This retirement home was located in my home town so it was an obvious choice to send my grandmother to after she developed demetia. It is a beautiful part of town set aside to be fairly private. The accomadations are beacutiful. The front desk staff were very friendly when ever I visited and were always extremely helpful whenever needed. The staff of nurses were also always courteous and helpful as stated by my grandmother and also noted while we were visiting. The decorations of the facility and also in the individual rooms were very exquisite and looked wonderful. The dining area was very neat and orderly and looked to be very clean and sanitary. I did not personally taste the food but also never heard any complaints about it either, which in my opinion would be considered good. Overall I was very satisfied with this area and was happy, for the price, that we put my grandmother their.
