Terrible facility.
Worse place ever don't take nobody here staff is rude they don't care if u live or die here.
Extended care is permanently closed
I'd rather die a slow and painful death than have to spend one more minute in there. Don't dare to work a job after 5pm because the nurses will gladly tell you to go to hell if you need to visit afterhours. Even if someone gives you verbal confirmation that you're allowed to visit at a later hour, the night shift won't even answer the intercom. The staff (not all, obviously) is very rude, and denied me access to my relative. When I complained, I was hung up on and ignored. Not only was this upsetting enough on it's own, but I'm the legal caretaker of my relative who can't make decisions for themselves. The doctor's don't call back, and the staff seems completely clueless every single shift change. I completely understand working with old people isn't easy, but when you're a bigger problem than the what you're trying to cure, you're in the wrong line of work. Addendum: all of this only applies if you can even find the building. This campus is so awfully built, poorly indicated, and catastrophically inadequate for the sad excuse of a hospital that this construction site is. If you love your family, take them anywhere else (i.e. McDonald's, USPS, Lowe's, Starbucks, the MVD...)
The staff was amazing a special thanks to Johnathon and Tulsa for being amazing nurses.
Best facility in georgia
Based on my experience when my Dad was a patient at GEC, I will not recommend anyone use this facility. When he was admitted, he was making good progress in his recovery from surgery. He was eating, talking, walking with assistance and building strength to transfer from chair to bed to toilet, etc.and return home. During his stay, the facility went on Covid lockdown so I could not visit daily as I had been. I was given daily updates of his progress with specifics of the good progress he was experiencing. Upon discharge, his state of health would contradict all the information and details I had been provided. He could not talk, eat or walk. He was also discharged with undiagnosed pneumonia that warranted a stay in the hospital. When he returned home from the hospital stay, he needed total care until his loss of life six weeks after discharge from GEC. Under no circumstance should a patient experience such lack of care nor a family member experience such misleading reports.
my wife has gotten good care while at gecc. i am aware that there are negative reviews so i wanted to place a positive one. unfortunately, the last time she was there (she's been twice), no visitors were allowed. during her first stay (7 weeks) i visited at least once a day and thought they did a very good job caring for patients.
