My Grandmother was a resident of this facility for several months. At first it was difficult for her, because it was a new place and she didn't know anyone. When she finally left, she had been there for 3 months and wasn't certain she wanted to leave. The wonderful staff really make this facility premier! The staff members would check in on her all throughout the day and night, greeting her with cheerful conversation and a smile. Their knowledge of my Grandmother's medical needs and rehabilitation accomplishments were also overwhelming. Whenever, we had a question, they would work towards finding an answer. If you are looking for a nursing home for your loved one, this facility is the most elite facility within the Statesboro area.

Like any business of this nature, there are some days when service is below expectations. However, the vast majority of time it is very good. Some of the staff simply report to work while others, the majority, are caring and go above and beyond. PT and OT staff are great. Would use facility again if need arose.

Last week, I had to make the difficult decision to find placement for my Grandmother. We could no longer take care of her safely at home. From day 1, I felt like I made the right decision choosing Heritage Inn for her care. We were immediately greeted by the Administrator, LaTasha and the Director of Nursing, Marti, who were so kind. The care plan team of Tamie, Amber, Rashad, Madelyn, and Jessica were so through going over her plan of care and answering all my questions. Amber W in Financial made the application for Medicaid a breeze! She answered all my questions and eased the financial burden for me. The team here is top notch. They are compassionate and truly care about their residents and families. During her short time here, my grandma has received nothing but quality care.

I pray no one ever has to leave a loved one in this place. They left my mom in soiled diapers for hours, had issues giving her medication, wouldn't give her any water until 12PM (then proceeded filled her cup up in the bathroom telling her "This will have to do" when the water machine was 50 feet from her door), and leaving wet wipes with feces in her bedroom trashcan so it smelled real nice. The room was infested with roaches, that were crawling on the curtain that touched my moms bed. There are definitely some great and loving employees but unfortunately that is overshadowed by those with bad attitudes. There was an incident where staff yelled at my mom while I was talking to her on the phone, she refused to talk to me when I arrived to talk about the incident in person, proceeded to kicked me out, and never apologized for the unprofessional behavior. I spoke with leadership and things went back to the way they were quickly. My mom was in there for 2 and a half months, luckily she is out and we are taking her to a real wound doctor to get her leg that had multiple infections during her stay fixed up. The scary thing is they did this to a cognizant woman who was texting/calling me often, I couldn't imagine some other residents who can't speak up for themselves. One star for keeping her alive I guess.
