BAD EXPERIENCE, MY WIFE HAD KIDNEY DISEASE AND UNFORTUNATELY PASSED AWAY ONLY A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. I WENT TO HARMONY TO PICK UP SOME BELONGINGS AND THE STAFF FOLLOWED ME TO HER ROOM AND STATED THAT I WILL BE BILLED FOR HER ROOM DAILY UNTIL ALL ITEMS ARE REMOVED FROM HER ROOM! THEY ALSO TOLD THE HOSPITAL WHERE TO SHIP HER BODY, AND DID NOT NOTIFY ME! THIS FUNERAL WAS NOT MY CHOICE!!!
I’m writing as the daughter of a current resident who has resided in independent living at Harmony of Savannah for over 3 years. My mother enjoys her neighbors, her apartment, and some of the social events. The building and grounds are nice, and the staff themselves are kind people doing their best. Unfortunately, the services promised during move‑in have not been delivered. Housekeeping has been inconsistent for three years and completely absent this year, despite being included in the rent, which increases annually. Staff turnover is constant, maintenance and food quality are hit or miss, and transportation is very limited. Weekend staffing and activities are minimal, leaving residents to organize their own community life. Communication from management and corporate is poor. Emails about rent increases or other matters go unanswered, directors come and go, and concerns raised by the residents’ council are mostly ignored. Recently, the entire independent living floor was even placed on an “ice cream restriction,” which felt disrespectful to adults paying $3,500–$4,500 a month. My mother has made the best of it and loves her community, but families should know that the amenities and services do not match what is promised during the sales process. Harmony has potential, but until leadership follows through, the experience remains disappointing.
My first Christmas at Harmony@Savannah! My one bedroom apartment on the first floor is wonderful. Able to walk my ShihTsu, Chip on the paved walking paths, right off my porch! Staff is incredible, dinners delicious ( desserts, maybe, a little too good! Lol. Always something to do, from activities within the building to the many outings to supermarkets, malls, restaurants on Harmony’s transportation. Lovely new friends❤️
Much good fellowship: pleasant staff. Dining room is top notch. Housekeeping is non existent.
My father was in assisted living at Harmony for several years. What is happening at Harmony is bordering on negligence. There are some very nice staff members, however no one appears to be in charge. Communication is nonexistent, as is accountability. Unless there is a massive overhaul in oversight and leadership, do not consider this location.
Their staff are very unhelpful. Would not recommend. Went in as a staff myself from another agency to assist one of their customers/clients, and actually ended up assisting ANOTHER client, not from my company (just another senior lost in the hall) when we asked the Harmony staff where does this client live, she doesn't remember, this is the Memory Care Ward, the gal said, " oh, she remembers" Clearly the patient did not. Luckily I helped found her room. The rest of the staff seem miserable and are just as unmotivated to assist with anything
My father chose this home andnI have to say it has the friendliest, most helpful staff and community members I encountered in our search for the perfect assisted living home. He's happy here and was able to bring his dog with him!
They try, understaffed but they try. The meals are good and the room size is spacious for a single person.
