Harborview Rehab Decatur is an awesome facility to place your love one in for rehabilitation. The staff and administration are caring and understanding of each individual in their care.
My husband was transferred to this facility from Emory Hosp after having had Hip surgery. He was here for approx. 3 weeks. I was quite impressed with the staff. The Admission director. Ms Natalie, is simply awesome ! Her kind and helpful demeanor really puts one at ease. She makes every effort to assure any questions or concerns you may have are addressed, or are resolved accordingly. I was told beforehand that the Physical , Therapist, Ms Lindsey, Ms Tammy, Mr. Chris,, Mr Rigg, are top notch. I agree. The nurses and Techs that I encountered, Ms Nicole, Ms Naee, MsSabrina and Ms Yvette,…

The nurses and Techs that I encountered, Ms Nicole, Ms Naee, MsSabrina and Ms Yvette, exhibit much needed empathy to carry out their daily task in this environment of multiple patients with a multitude of specific needs. The Housekeeping, Food, and Maintenance staff are the Multitaskers of the Century. (Mr Lewis, Mr Curtis, Mr Charles, Ms Jemaria, Ms Telinda) These are employers that I specifically encountered at one time or the other and give “ hand claps” for the kindness and willingness to assist with even the smallest request or needs.
Poor service.
Choosing care for a loved one is never easy, and for our family, this was completely new territory. My mother lived independently until nearly age 75, later transitioning to assisted living. When a hip fracture in December 2024 brought us to Harborview Decatur, we were entering an entirely new experience. What stands out most is the level of care and compassion shown here—qualities that simply cannot be taught. On one occasion, after a brief hospital stay, my mother returned by ambulance and several staff members came outside to greet her. That moment spoke volumes about the culture of this place. My mother shares a room, with her bed closest to the door, and what continues to touch me is how many individuals—across departments—take the time to acknowledge her, speak to her, and check on her. She is not just cared for; she is known. Communication is consistent and thoughtful. I am kept informed about everything, from small daily needs to any changes in how she is feeling. That level of attentiveness provides reassurance that is invaluable. I typically visit twice each week, and I cannot stress enough how important it is for family members to remain actively involved in their loved one’s care. No facility is perfect, and that is important to acknowledge. However, our overall experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and the heart of this place is undeniable. Harborview Decatur feels less like a facility and more like an extended family. If you are facing this difficult decision, this is a place where compassion is truly felt.
I have been here for 3years we have great activities and friendly CNAs rehab have been great getting me where I used to be now I'm walking with little support
I would like to give a shout out to the staff at Harborview Decatur They go above and beyond caring for residents and meeting their needs! Very clean facility! Great job!
My husband was admitted for physical rehabilitation after a fall and surgery in February 2026. I toured the facility before he was admitted. Natalie, the admission director, was professional and friendly as she showed be around. Once admitted, the majority of the staff was friendly, courteous, and professional. The rehabilitation department was exceptional. He received great physical and occupational therapy and was able to make progress to be able to return home in two weeks. Charles, the kitchen manager does a great job and providing tasty and nutritious meals. As in many an healthcare facilities, they are understaffed, but the staff at Harborview Decatur did a good job in meeting my husband‘s needs.
I feel obligated to warn other families about our experience. From the moment we walked in, The facility smelled strongly of feces, on my mother’s first night, I saw dry feces on the door in the restroom, The curtains next to her soiled of what looked like bodily fluids. Basic hygiene supplies like wipes not available- staff were using damp paper towels instead. Mom came in late, so I asked if they had a sandwich anything Nurses reply this isn’t a hospital. My mother also reported that her roommate fully dependent on staff would only be changed once a day leaving her sitting in feces for hours. Most concerning, The facility failed to provide my mother with her prescribed antibiotic for two weeks. Her hospital doctor stated she could not reach the facility staff. This experience was deeply troubling. I urge families to thoroughly research this facility before placing their loved ones here. However, I do appreciate a few people there that were very kind and helpful to my mother but that’s simply not enough of a reason to leave your family there These are only some of the terrible things we experience there the list can go on. If you read any good reviews on this facility, it’s for sure FAKE just go take a visit before placing someone there take a walk around. You might not want to as soon as you open the door and smell the stench. I think the workers are immune to it not sure how they work there bc I definitely could smell that stench in my hair in my clothes as soon as I walked out to fresh air. You can smell the stench on yourself.
