2.4 · 18 reviewsThe 5 months I've been here was rough at first, but things are improving. The unpermitted music playing beneath the apartment windows is regulated better by BCSO, the new cleaning person does a better job. Maintenance is still seemingly backed up. There are, now, more activities for the residents to participate in ...the ones who can't physically go far. Oh, and fewer vagrants are hanging out in front of the building and disturbing near businesses. I'll see what happens when it warms up, again.
Dempsey's Apartments everybody lives at Dempsey's Apartments HUD pays the majority of the rent and then however much money anybody gets as a monthly income the person that moves in the Dempsey's Apartments pays 1/3 of whatever your monthly income is the only one who does not pay any rent that lives at Dempsey's Apartments is a man that works for the for the HUD organization
I've worked with clients there as a Home Health Aid in the past. The building is absolutely beautiful. It provides a hair salon, mini computer lab, wash facility, etc. The building by design is absolutely beautiful. It will most definitely be a place that I would consider staying in the future. Fast forward to 2025. Do to a dibilitating injury, I am, now, experiencing the Dempsey life. It is as beautiful as I've mentioned above. The apartments are huge and we'll maintained. The manager is very professional. My apartment is beautiful. They have redone the halls and replaced the carpeting with…

If you haven't visited this historic beauty lately or have never been inside, please get a tour before making negative judgements. You may miss out on one of downtown Macon's best kept living places.

I used to live here a few years ago with my husband. It was horrible. You constantly have roaches crawling around everywhere. I started waking up with small red spots all over me. I tried to tell the manager it was from bed bugs, so our apartment needed to be treated. She "assured" us that we didn't have them. A few days later I moved the bed and saw one. Hit it with tape and took it to her.so if you have a problem with something, you have to prove it. Otherwise, nothing will be done.i had to stay in a hotel while it was treated. I'm on a fixed income. It is disgusting. RUN AWAY!
Tried taking my Diabetic uncle his meds and blood sugar machine and a phone charger cause his phone died and security denied me and his sister because he didn’t answer the phone (that’s way I was taking a phone charger) big dummies
Should be re-named the “Dumpy Apartments”. Many a night out in beautiful Macon is spoiled when you come upon this street corner and the residents of this apartment are sitting on the corner at all hours. This is essentially a homeless encampment without the tents. Trash is abundant, saliva splattered on the ground, beggars and vagrants accosting passersby…I do hope the City of Macon will close this place and move the problems elsewhere. I pray for gentrification.
Not a very pleasant place. My grandmother stayed there in 2021 and all of her valuable items went missing. When I asked the manager for footage she said “ I don’t understand why someone would Want to steal from someone who looks like her.” She was shortly evicted after. People that have any color please be aware!
I lived in DempseyApts in 2009 until 2011. I moved after my sister died in 2010. Management is excellent. Maintenance is super dooper. I am and will gladly live there again. Thanks Carol Suzanne Brackett
